Exciting times for immigration opportunities to Canada!
This week, the federal government announced its intention to help businesses find work and bring qualified skilled workers to Canada. The government has outlined the following ambition goals:
465,000 permanent residents in 2023,
485,000 in 2024, and
500,000 in 2025.
Additional highlights of the announcement include:
an increased focus on economic class – 60% of total admissions by 2025;
Special focus based on specific sectors due to labour shortages, such as: health care, manufacturing, building trades, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math);
Additional focus on regional programs via Provincial Nominee Program, the Atlantic Immigration Program, and the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot;
Support for global crises by providing a safe haven to those facing persecution, including by expanding the Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot;
